Your passport
A valid South African passport covering the full duration of the stay.
Health requirements
No vaccination is required for a direct arrival from South Africa. The obligation appears if your route passes through a country where yellow fever circulates.
An up-to-date yellow fever certificate
The international vaccination booklet must be presented in its original form on arrival. Get vaccinated at least ten days before departure.
Long transit, same requirement
A layover of more than twelve hours in the airport of a risk country triggers the same obligation, even if you never leave the terminal.

The application of a South African national
A valid passport
It must remain valid throughout your stay. Have a clear, complete image of the identity page ready.
A recent photo or selfie
Use a clear, recent colour photo showing your full face, with no filter or glare.
A return or onward ticket
The booking should show your name, travel dates and flight numbers.
Proof of accommodation
Have a confirmed booking covering your full stay, including the name and address of the accommodation.
Sufficient funds
At the border, visitors may be asked to show at least US$150, or the equivalent, for each day of their stay.
A valid email address
The authorisation is sent by email. Check the spelling of your address and keep an eye on your spam folder.
Travel insuranceif applicable
Not listed as a standard entry document, but recommended to cover medical care, cancellation and repatriation.
Yellow fever vaccination certificateif applicable
Required after residence in or a recent visit to a yellow-fever-risk country, including an airport transit there lasting more than 12 hours.

What is the Seychelles travel authorisation?
It is an electronic authorisation that visitors must obtain before departure. It allows you to travel to Seychelles; the visitor’s permit is issued by immigration on arrival.
How long does a decision take?
Processing time depends on the application and any additional checks. Apply once your flights and accommodation are confirmed so there is time to correct anything if needed.
How long may I stay?
The visitor’s permit issued on arrival can cover up to three months. It may then be extended through immigration, provided you continue to meet the entry conditions.
Do children need an authorisation?
Yes. Every traveller needs a separate authorisation, including children and infants who hold their own passport.
When should I apply?
For an arrival by air, the official guidance allows an application up to 10 days before the flight. Start once your flights and accommodation are confirmed and leave time for corrections.
